MISC is a student-initiated group created as part of the Program for Interprofessional Practice, Education and Research (PIPER). We are student leaders within the Faculty of Health Sciences and other health professional programs at McMaster University.
Our core values are:
- Student engagement
- Community Service
We aim to enhance students' professional, social, and educational development through academic and social events and through community service work with underserviced populations in the Hamilton community. With representatives from every program within the Faculty of Health Sciences, including medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, midwifery, bachelor of health sciences, physician assistants, child life studies, and graduate studies, our council advocates for and leads a movement towards interprofessional collaborative practice.
Our group is a collaboration of former student groups Community Health Initiatives with McMaster Education (CHIME) and the Interprofessional Student Council (IPSC).
