Carrie has been a member of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences for over 15 years. Her research focuses on improving quality of life and quality of care for older adults, particularly individuals living with dementia and their family care partners. Much of Carrie’s research involves working in collaboration with individuals with lived experience, family care partners, health and community support service providers, advocacy organizations, decision makers, educators and other researchers to improve care and the care experience. Carrie has extensive experience working in clinical settings and has conducted research in long-term care, primary care, the community, and acute and tertiary care. Carrie has also been a Facilitator in the Bachelor of Health Sciences Program for over ten years, providing her with experience in inquiry-based learning, team functioning, and group dynamics.
